We answer frequently asked questions about Carveth Village in Middleville, MI.

  • Are you licensed?

    Yes, we are licensed as a Home for the Aged. We adhere to and follow the rules and regulations set forth by the State of Michigan. 

  • How are you staffed?

    Our Administration office, Activities department, and department managers are available Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Our Clinical department is staffed and onsite 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Dietary department runs 6 am to 8 pm, seven days a week. Our housekeeping department runs from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, seven days a week. 

  • Do you have a physician on call?

    No, we are an assisted living facility. Each resident may use their long-standing physicians as their primary. These doctors may maintain their own after-hours services. However, in the event of an emergency, our onsite staff will utilize in-house policies which may include calling 911 and an ambulance if needed. 

  • What is the cost and what is included?

    Cost will vary based on the level of care and the size of the room. All meals, housekeeping, laundry service, onsite activities, and personal assistance are included. Medication management is also included but the cost of the resident’s prescribed or over-the-counter medication is the resident’s responsibility. The beauty shop is available to the resident but the expense of service by our beautician is the responsibility of the resident. 

  • Must the resident come to dining room for meals?

    Yes, unless the resident is ill. Additionally, we always invite families and friends to join the residents during meals! See our Dining section for more information. 

  • Can the resident have snacks in the room?

    Yes, but they must be in a resealable container. Residents may have small refrigerators in the room but no microwaves or any device with an open hotplate.

  • What about bird feeders or flower baskets outside their window?

    Yes, but the bird feeder or Sheppard hook should be properly installed so as to not fall over. Additionally, all hooks should be in the rock bed outside the resident’s window and not in the lawn. 

  • Are cars allowed? Can you come and go as you please?

    Yes, they may have their own cars. Residents may come and go as they please, but we ask all residents to sign out before leaving. 

  • Do you provide Physical Therapy?

    We can accommodate Physical and Occupational therapy agencies to come onsite to provide services to residents. 

  • Do you take Alzheimer patients?

    Yes. However, we are unable to accommodate certain behaviors such as frequent attempts to leave campus unsupervised, violence towards others, and attempts to harm themselves. 

  • Are we required to sign a long term contract?

    We have several contract types. Speak with the Administrator to determine what is the best option for you or your loved one. 

  • What are the visiting hours?

     We are open for visitors from 8 am to 10 pm daily. The doors are locked and armed at 10 pm each night. 

  • What about security?

    The doors are alarmed at night and we have security cameras.

  • Do you accept Medicaid 3B Waiver?

    Yes, we do. Ask the Administrator for more details. 

  • Does my loved one have to move if they decline?

    No, we offer aging in place through end-of-life care. 

  • Can families participate in activities?

    Absolutely! We always enjoy seeing families having as much fun as we have.
